This Intensive one day class bridges the gap between entry level foundation handgun skills and the world of defensive shooting. By introducing situational awareness, threat identification, combative mindset and tactical communication combined with realistic common sense based shooting drills this course will introduce shooters to the art of defensive handgun.
Duration: 1 day / 6 hours (2hrs Classroom / 4hrs range)
Estimated round count: 400 rounds.
Please wear long pants with pockets, closed toe shoes (no flip flops or sandals), and a crew neck (T-shirt) or button-up shirt (no low-cut neck lines), also a cap or hat with a brim. Bring water to stay hydrated during the range time.
You may bring your own handgun, holster, and at least 3 magazines with holders. Calibers allowed include .380, .38SPL, 9MM, .357SIG, .40S&W, and .45ACP. Revolver shooters should bring a minimum of 4 speedloaders, moonclips or speedstrips.
We strongly recommend attending Handgun Basic Orientation and Handgun Practical Skill or equivalent course before you attend Handgun Intermediate Skills. The student MUST know and be able to demonstrate how to safely load, fire, unload a handgun including working from a holster, performing reloads while dealing with malfunctions and stoppages. Muzzle control and trigger discipline are key in this course.
